Dear lovelies!
As much as you may love winters. I am sure you really don’t appreciate the Sun no-show, chapped lips, shivering limbs and the struggle to get out of that blanket. Its unbelievable that Delhi has seen days colder than London and its not even January yet.
People who know me well know that over the years, winters and I have many unresolved issues- cold morning wake ups, immobility, long waiting time for cold water to run out! I think the only way I love winters is by observing it from a very warm, cuddled up atmosphere (bonfire!) AND of course the Fashion it gets!
Are you thinking that dressing chic in winters gets a little taxing and more shivering limbs?
Winter months doesn’t mean a bluish wardrobe. In today’s edition of STiLUM, I will tell you how to dress fab and yet stay warm. For this task today I have Parisian fashion brand ELLE Fashionwear to decode winter dressing. (Paris and I have something going on :P)
Chic.Feminine.Very French. ELLE Fashionwear brings to you ensembles straight off the global fashion capital’s runways inspired by Parisian tr’s cool fashion. High on trend and wearability factor, ELLE brings a lot on their table with the latest Fall-Winter ’14 collection. Snugly overcoats, beautiful cardigans, cool jackets, lovely dresses and gorgeous bags!! ELLE has introduced a whole line of statement bags to match your many moods and even keep up with your social calendar.
I clearly remember the enthusiasm with which ELLE Fashionwear was launched in India just a few years back and I believe they are repeating history soon with their latest store designs and this stunner collection.
Coming back to the task we are on, the trick to chic winter dressing is- layering! Never sacrifice your style to the elements ”think sleek, form-fitting under layers topped with chunky knitwear, statement dresses or skirts, cozy, furred coats/jackets and comfy boots! Gloves, hats and scarfs become your accessory partners and how!
My visit to the ELLE store few days back gave me exactly what I was looking for ! The maroon over coat feels so warm, great texture and the colour is just right to light up any outfit. The grey skater dress has a beautiful lace layering giving a subtle feminine hint. And the polka dot collared shirt acts as a layer to hide your inner cashmere layer and also give arms to the cut sleeve dress. Making you feel nice and cozy yet stylish. I personally love this bag for its sophistication and match-ability with many outfits!

I love everything about winters and the whole winter look with coat, boots, scarves but my favorite winter accessory are definitely the gloves. That’s why loved them the most & commented on them. I wish I lived in colder countries like UK or USA to try this kinda fashion. I am craving for leather gloves like these here in Delhi, but couldn't find a decent pair. Even if it gets cold, most women wear those knitted woolen ones. But these leather ones look ultra chic. Do Indian women in colder countries wear these leather gloves ? If yes, then I guess its the climate plus the freedom to wear anything and to look stylish makes them wear these. I hope we see this kinda fashion in India soon.
