On a nice sunny sunday, last weekend ofcourse..my brother and I went to treat ourselves. WE WENT TO ELMA’S !
I have been to Elma’s like ALOT… so much so that before this time the owner, Ms. Shelly Sahay came up to me and asked “you come here quite often dont you !?” and I nodded in a proud yes !
But it was my brothers first time to Elma’s…he had a quick look, deciding what to eat till the time the table was getting ready and lucky there was no rush this time and we got the table in 5 !
So it was time for the order placement. My brother who thinks he has a very fine taste went deep into every dishes details so I in the mean while took a look around….
Elma’s interiors are done very tastefully with an Italian bistro charm. Their crockery is simple exquisite and so are many distinguished pieces like this station clock.
Old school Interiors.
One can even play the piano and entertain fellow Elma lovers.
And here comes the reason I visited Elma’s this time. The Red Velvet Dollops !!
Well the process in the picture, from left to right took just 5 minutes to vanish. It was just heavenly….really !! Perfect sugar, not too much of cream, great taste and texture ! My taste buds didn’t let me rest the fork till it was finished!!
Then came the ‘Victoria Sponge Cake’. It was soft and a good try but it just could not break my hypnotic state after devouring the dollops.
Time for the Beef Pastry !!! And peeps, I haven’t had such bursting flavoured beef in Delhi. Wished it was cooked a little more but the veggies, herbed mash potato and the thin crispy pastry layer hugging the beef made a great combo and I enjoyed every bite.
The veggies were fresh and so was the beef.
Our stomaches were happy!
Till the time the bill was getting cleared I took an another look around.
Almond Walnut Cake.
Elma’s breads are considered the best around especially the browns and the multi grains. Many nutritionists in Delhi suggest to have breads from Elma as they make real and pure brown breads unlike many who just add brown colour to wheat bread.
Elma bakes fresh breads every morning.
Natural Rainbow Cake.
Jaw dropping & chocolate dripping Chocolate Cake.
But my fav will be the red velvet dollops !
I had to take some for home too!
And there is a good news ! Elma’s is opening up a new and bigger place at Meher Chand Road Near Lodhi Colony, New Delhi….!
On our way to Elma’s Bakery, Cakes and Tea Room, we saw this graffiti and on our way back we saw a peacock too! Who ever painted it…Great Job!
So all in all it was a sunday well spent! If you haven’t been to Elma’s Bakery, Cakes and Tea Room….You should… its an experience for sure ! Il be visiting again ! xx
