STiLUM: Wedding Couture- ‘The Wedding Day Look’

Hey Chicas!

We in Delhi (punju’s to be precise 😛 ) relate much, only to a lehenga-choli or a salwar-suit when it come to dressing up on a wedding day! But me being the experimentalist thought, how about a sari to a wedding? I am certainly not taking about those dreamy georgette, fly with the wind look but a very traditional, gold laden- lehenga sari. One can for all obvious reasons can’t take the traditional part out of a wedding. The ceremonies, the decor, the emotions just keep you down to basic. So this hot national attire when wore with gold embellishment and gold jewelry looks great for a wedding. Gives more of a south Indian look, but I wore this to a sikh wedding recently. Creation of a Kolkatta based designer, this sari also has inicrate  kundan work over shades of pink. If you add a bindi and some white flowers to a hairdo it would look more beautiful and complete just like Sonam Kapoor in Aisha’s Gal Mithi Mithi song. But like I said it was a sikh wedding I was going to, so I curbed my experimental horses a bit and saved my self from the Chennai Express inspired tag from fellow guest 😛

Coming to the Jewellry. Long strings of traditional gold beads are strung together to create a necklace fit for royalty called Rani haar which literally means a queen’s necklace. . With ruby and emerald beads this rustic gold queen piece is back in trend. I am sure your mom or grand mum will be having one such precious locked in their safes! One can even add a choker neckpiece for a more high on gold look.
