It’s always a delight to introduce budding designers and artists on the blog. Their zeal to offer something new always brings in something extraordinary. One such new designer on the block is Jessica Khanijo. An alumna of Pearl Academy of Fashion, she has worked as the head designer for a famed apparel brand, and now has launched her very own name sake label – Jessica Khanijo.
Jessica explores a keen sight for western wear but with an Indian twist. Her cuts and silhouettes may be modern but her choice of intricate embroidery work is very much Indian. Cocktail look or pure bridal wear, there is something for everyone here.
I picked up these pieces for their trend factor. Crop top and maxi skirts are in and Jessica interpreted it into Indian sensibilities. Plain flared black maxi skirt and high neck zarii embroidered crop top. Its backless cut adds a sensuous touch.
Felt like doing a Indian sultry look. Hence smokey eyes with tint of red on the lips and messy hair took good care of the over all look I wanted. With oomph comes minimalism. The accessories are minimal with green glass bangles, haathfool and a beautiful, colourful nose-pin from M.B. jewellers. The multi colour stones embodied in the nose pin and the haathfool add the perfect whiff of colour for such a look.
Take a look !
