Rohit Bal’s couture collection for India Bridal Week was nothing less than a motion picture! Spectacular set up, feel good soundtrack and to die for clothes. With Sonam A. Kapoor walking the ramp, was just a added perk to the whole experience but a show like this doesn’t need any celeb endorsement it just speaks for itself and takes your breath away.
Rohit Bal’s, fondly called Gudda, show is one show I was really looking forward to, courtesy my ‘loyal Gudda fan’ friends. And for real it ain’t just hype, but the truth. It was my first time to experience his show and I was speechless and goose-bumed by the end of it.
The space was done by non other than India’s best Mr. Sumant Jayakrishnan. Beautiful lotus flowers, warm tea lights all over the arena, mirror border runway. Songs of the yester years like, ‘Lagja Galey’, ‘Aayie Meherbaan’, ‘Roja janeman’, amalgamated perfectly with the collection.
Some of the pieces made me wanting to get married again ! The Elizabethan collar added a regal charm to the anarkalis.
The use of Swarovski was too good to be true where motives like peacock were made wholly out of Swarovski crystals.
When it comes to Indian bridal wear people usually denounce the shades of white or ivory, but it seems, white’s close cousin, ivory is a big trend this bridal season. First we saw JJ Valaya and now Rohit Bal showcasing ivory with shades of marron and gold. Showstopper Sonam kapoor too wore a ivory gold lehenga.
Laser cut work made way last season and I fell in love with it. This piece in particular is my favorite, specially how the neck and shoulders are done. (spiderman costume inspired? )
From now I pledge to never miss a Rohit Bal show! <3
Hope the experience came through the highlight video and pictures.
Now looking forward to TT’s grand finale show.
